Player Bio

Do you remember your first varsity start and how was it?
“My varsity start I was nervous because it was my first time being on a huge stage in front of a huge crowd. I had jitters, but after halftime I started playing my game. We played Langston Hughes at Lakewood, and we won.”

What is your best asset as a wide receiver and who do you model your style after?
“I would say Tavon (Austin) because he plays receiver and running back.”
More comfortable outside or in the slot?
“I like to play in the slot because I have more room.”

Have you played wide receiver your entire life and what made you want to play wide receiver?
“I have not. I started playing receiver my freshman year because my coaches thought I had a lot of quickness. They wanted to use that asset of mine. I played where they put me. At least I was on the field.”

Who is the most influential person in your life?
“A normal person would probably say a mother or father, but for me it is Coach Jarvis. He is like family. When I’m down he talks to me and gets me up. He keeps my head level and tells me to stay humble. He also tells me that opportunities are going to come to me.”

Parents names and did they play sports in college?
“My dad, Anthony Cayetano, Sr., played basketball at Charleston State, and my mom, Gail Hammonds, ran track. I come from an athletic family.”

Do you do any work in the community?
“Once a month, my church goes out in the community to help out. I also go to the nursing home from time to time to interact with the older people there.”

What colleges have shown interest in you/offered you?
“I don’t have any official offers, but I have been getting a lot of letters from Purdue, Georgia Southern, NC State, and UConn.”

What do you want to study in school?
“I want something to do with athletics. If I find something to do with sports, then that is probably the way I will go.”

What is your best football memory?
“Last year we play running back against Lovejoy. I scored my first touchdown as a varsity player.”

What is a fact about you many people that don’t know you, wouldn’t be able to guess?
“I am really influential. I have a lot of people that look up to me early in my life. I am in that phase where I have to keep a level head. If I have a big head, then those younger people that look up to me might do the same. I like having that role, but I have learned that it is a lot of weight on your back. I am still learning that.”
