Player Bio

Anthony Stanley is an all-purpose back at Heritage High School whose versatility brings out the best in all of his abilities. For Heritage head coach Wendell Early can have Stanley plugged in at quarterback, wide receiver, running back, as well as cornerback and expects the junior to perform at an exceptional level. This versatility is also the product of the star player’s willingness to help out the team by any means possible. Coach Early spoke praises of Stanley’s team-first mentality along with his down-to-earth personality that eases the minds of his teammates during crunch time. The 6-foot-1, 180 pound junior possesses great first-step acceleration that allows him to fully utilize his 4.6 speed along with an ability to run clean, crisp routes. Stanley has been able to bring the best out of his ability with a regular workout regimen that sees him continuously hitting the weights in the offseason. He began to garner attention with a sophomore campaign where he was named to the 8-AAAAA All Region along with earning Team MVP honors. His junior campaign saw him continue being the focal point of the Heritage offense as he scored seven touchdowns during the 2014 regular season. His ability on the gridiron has seen him draw interest from Louisville and Michigan State while also paying visits to UGA, Duke and Arizona. Stanley would not be the first family member to play college football as his older brother formerly played wide receiver at Fort Valley State. When he is not on the gridiron or in the weight room, Stanley spends his free time helping in the building and growth process of a new, local church, Discovery Point. It is there that the football star assists in setting up events along with helping children. He owns a 3.0 grade point average and hopes to one day be involved in technology engineering.
