Player Bio

Do you remember your first varsity start and how was it?
“Yes, it was the Corky Kell Classic at the Georgia Dome this year against Colquitt County. It was a little stressful and I was nervous with the big stage and it being televised. Over the course of the game I stopped worrying and just played. Even though we came out with a loss, it was still fun playing in the Dome.”

Have you played OL your entire life and what made you want to play OL?
“I have played OL most of my life, except when I was in fifth grade when I played tight end. I started playing football in fifth grade. I switched to OL because of my size. I stuck with it because I enjoyed the pancakes I got in recreation league. I thought that was pretty cool so I began to love the position.”

What is your best asset as an OL? Is technique or strength more important in your opinion? What is your primary OL position and how comfortable are you with other positions? What do you want to play in college?
“My best asset is my technique at the tackle position. It’s important because if you don’t have any technique you can’t do your job to protect the QB and other skill position players. I have not played other OL positions since my recreation league days. In college I hope to be an OT, but I am fine with playing any other position on the line.”

Who is the most influential person in your life?
“The most influential people in my life are my parents. I say this because they have always been pushing me to do well in school as well as my athletics.”

How many brothers and sisters, what ages and do they play sports?
“I have one sister and she is 19 and goes to Georgia Tech. She’s a swimmer on the Georgia Tech Club Swim Team and won two gold medals at the East Coast Club National Championships last year.”

Parents name and did they play sports in college?
“My father, Larry Sibilia, did not play sports in college. My mother, Fran, played in the marching band at the University of Nebraska.”

Do you do any work in the community? (i.e. help coach kids, volunteer, active in church)
“Yes, I’m an active member in my church. I am involved with Lunch Bunch at school. This is a time to help special needs kids with work on their social skills. I also volunteer at Capernaum, which is a night each month to help those who care for kids with special needs by giving them a night out. We play games and help with the kids so that the parents can enjoy some time to themselves.”

What colleges have shown interest in you/offered you?
“I have not had any offers yet, but I have had lots of interest from schools. Most recently: Duke, Boston College, Purdue, Colorado State and Kansas State.”

What has been your best football memory?
“The time our high school team came back to win in the last four minutes of the game. We were four touchdowns behind Mill Creek two years ago (my freshman year on the team), and we were able to take the lead and win. It was an amazing game and win. The locker room was crazy!”

Gain any accolades? (All-Region, State, etc.) Did you attend any camps this offseason?
“I have been a part of two region championships and a State Runner-Up team. I attended several camps over the off-season: Michigan/USF, Florida, Georgia State/Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Duke, Iowa and Cal Berkley.”

Play any sports besides football?
“Yes. I am on the track and field team for my high school. I do shot and discus.”
