Player Bio

Do you remember your first varsity start and how was it?
“First varsity start was as a sophomore in the prime time game of the Corky Kell and was probably the most nerve wracking time of my life.”

Have you played DL your entire life and what made you want to play DL?
“In youth league, I played many positions but DL was where I saw my home. My dad played DL also so I always gravitated towards there.”

What is your best asset as a DL?
“I would consider my mind to be my best asset as a defensive lineman. I like getting inside an offensive lineman’s mind and knowing what he’s going to do, then using my physical assets like my speed and strength to defeat him.”

Parents name and did they play sports in college?
“Daniel Yellott is my dad and he was a four year starter on defensive line at Duke, then played in the USFL at Tampa Bay.”

Do you do any work in the community?
“My dad and I both coach defensive line for my program’s 8th grade team. It feels great to help them because I remember when I was in their position.”

What has been your best football memory?
“My freshman year, coming back from 24 points behind in the 4th quarter against Mill Creek.”

Outside of playing sports, what would you want to do for a living?
“I want to be a college defensive coordinator.”

What is a fact about you many people that don’t know you, wouldn’t be able to guess?
“I clean my ears twice a week.”
