Player Bio

The 5-foot-9, 175-pound junior has started to come into his own as a running back who runs crisp routes, is a playmaking threat open field and is a strong receiver. Billings’ playmaking ability was showcased with his strong effort in 2014. Billings had big shoes to fill going into the season as he was slated to replace 2013 leading rusher Josh Boyd, who currently plays for Appalachian State, while the Blue Devils were shooting for their third-straight state title. The junior thrived by being the primary back as Billings ran for 697 yards and eight touchdowns as Norcross reached the state playoffs for the fifth consecutive season.

Billings was named Gwinnett Player of the Week in Norcross’ week-one 32-29 overtime victory over Tucker at the Corky Kell Classic as the standout totaled 122 yards of offense and one score, but the junior did not stop there. The running back followed with a breakout performance against Brookwood as he ran for a career-high 226 yards on 26 carries, scoring two touchdowns in the Blue Devils’ 21-10 win. That sort of production is not surprising for Norcross head coach Keith Maloof. “Jamir has put countless hours in the weight room as well as on the track and his hard work is paying off. I’m proud of his accomplishments so far and I’m very excited to see what his future holds.”

Billings has started to gain the interest from various schools and should expect some offers to arise in the upcoming months. This season proves to be a starting point to build for a strong senior year, but his desire and work ethic are the two key factors for the Norcross standout will bring to the 2015 season.
