Player Bio

Do you remember your first varsity start and how was it?
“My first Varsity start was my Sophomore year. We played Dacula in a scrimmage and I was a little bit nervous that I would not do the right thing or call the strength the right way. Also, I had to line up the defense at a young age which was also very nerve racking as well.”

Have you played LB your entire life and what made you want to play LB?
“When I played in the GFL (Little League Football) I played Running Back and Quarterback but Linebacker has always been my natural position. My Dad was the reason I play Linebacker because he used to tell me stories when I was younger of when he played the position. It sounded fun.”

What is your best asset as a LB? How do you lead on the field? Who has been the toughest ball carrier to bring down?
“My best asset as a Linebacker is that I can get everyone lined up in the right position in order to make a play. Also, I play the run very well. I can see the way the Running Back steps and where the lineman move and tell who is getting the ball. There hasn’t been any ball carrier that has been tough to bring down.”

Who is the most influential person in your life?
“My dad is the most influential person in my life because he is always giving me good advice and always giving me pointers on how to perfect my craft.”

How many brothers and sisters, what ages and do they play sports?
“I do not have any brothers or sisters. I’m an only child.”

Parents name and did they play sports in college?
“Mom’s name is Chandra Jones and my Dad’s name is Larry Jones. My dad played football at East Mississippi Junior College.”

Do you do any work in the community?
“I would run the clock for AAU basketball games to keep them on time. I would also run the chains for JV games at school. During the Summer, I helped teachers move boxes to their new classrooms at the High School.”

What colleges have shown interest in you/offered you?
“Wisconsin has given me an Offer and shows the most interest. Other schools showing me interest are Clemson, Florida, Duke, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, Northwestern, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, North Carolina and Mississippi State.”

What do you want to study in school?
“I want to Major in Kinesiology and Minor in Communications.”

What has been your best football memory?
“My best football memory was when I was 7 and our team played Dacula. I had one of the best games of my life. I scored 4 touchdowns and had double digit tackles. Even though we lost, I had a great game.”

Gain any accolades? Did you attend any camps this offseason? Know any of your stats?
“I attended camps at Duke, Louisville, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt and Georgia. My stats this season are  120 tackles, 85 solo tackles, 6 TFL 3 interceptions, 1 Caused Fumble, 5 QB hurries, 1 Rec TD.”

Play any sports besides football?
“I play basketball as well.”

Outside of playing sports, what would you want to do for a living?
“I would want to be a Physical Therapist so I could help people recover from injuries.”

What is a fact about you many people that don’t know you, wouldn’t be able guess?
“I do not play video games Monday-Friday during school.”
