Player Bio

Grady High School’s Keenan Marr blossomed into one of Region 6’s best pass rushers this past season. The 6-foot-3, 240 pound Marr got to the quarterback 12 times this year and finished with 50 tackles, five for loss, and one touchdown. Keenan was also an All-Region selection. The Knights finished 5-5 this season led by one of the region’s stronger defenses that allowed 22 points per game, fourth best in the ten team region. Keenan said that his best skills on the field are his size, his great football IQ, his speed and his ability to get off the ball quickly. His strong play coupled with his great skill set has gotten schools such as Clemson, Mississippi State, Notre Dame and North Carolina State to show interest.

Keenan showed his toughness this season. He has battled with ankle injuries all summer and during the season. His injuries caused him to miss any summer camp action in order to help heal. Keenan usually suites up for the Grady basketball team, but will take this season off to make sure he is 100% healthy for his upcoming senior season on the gridiron.

The always smiling Marr currently holds a 3.0 GPA and is interested in studying either business or law in college. Even though he is busy with football and getting good grades, Keenan still makes time to give back to his local community. He explained, “I go out and help out younger kids playing football or I’ll help pass out things.” Keenan understands the importance of being a role model to younger children by not only being there to help them on the football field, but to help them with life as they are growing up as well.

Keenan envisions himself sticking at defensive end or moving to linebacker in college. He has gotten a lot of help along the way and is thankful for the people around him. “My entire family, my AAU coach Brodie and any coach that has crossed my path has made a positive impact in my life.”

With a few months to fully heal his overworked ankles, expect Keenan to come back strong than ever for his final season with the Knights as he will try and guide them back into the post season after missing out this year.
