Player Bio

At 6-foot-2 and 207 pounds, wide receiver Kiel Pollard poses problems for opposing defenses. With his great size, strong hands and his ability to go up and make plays, the junior has established himself as one of the top players in the state of Georgia during his time at Colquitt County. He has been ranked a three-star recruit by Rivals.com. As a sophomore, Pollard led the team in major receiving categories, catching 48 passes for 813 yards and seven touchdowns as Colquitt advanced to the semifinals in the 2013 state playoffs. His strong season resulted in the standout being given Second Team All-Region.

2014 proved to be just as productive as the wide-out recorded 59 catches for 771 yards and seven scores as the Packers went undefeated in the toughest region in the state, Region 1-AAAAAA, while advancing to the state finals for the second time in five years. That strong season resulted in Pollard being named to the All-Region squad. He has received offers from Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Purdue, Old Dominion, and Boston College, while also gaining interest from Auburn. Playing for highly-regarded head coach Rush Propst has helped enhance the magnifying glass on the talents of the Packers’ top players, including Pollard, but the junior fully embraces the experience because of the respect the Colquitt coach has for his players.

Aside from the gridiron, Pollard enjoys speaking with elementary school students and regularly works as a community mentor. He maintains solid grades, nearing a 3.0 grade-point average in the classroom, and would like to study sport education in college and potentially become a coach after his playing career is over. Kiel Pollard is a hard-working, respectful young man whose tremendous potential and drive to improve presents a strong opportunity of being one of the best wide receivers in the state for the Class of 2016.
