Martial Washington is a defensive back from Richmond Hill High School that carries a tall, athletic frame which projects well on the gridiron. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 205 pounds, the junior possesses good ball skills and playmaking ability and is beginning to grow into his body, which has drawn the attention of college programs.

Football is fairly new for the defensive back as he only started playing the game as a freshman when he realized his physical growth. After giving it some though, he realized that his size translated well to the gridiron. As a sophomore, Washington received a considerable amount of playing time. He appeared in seven games and recorded 29 total tackles, one interception and four pass breakups as the Wildcats recorded its first ten-win season in school history.

While the team was unable to reach the playoffs during his junior campaign, the standout defensive back recorded 47 total tackles, one interception and one forced fumble as interest has started to bubble from schools across the country, including Georgia, Miami, Georgia Tech, Utah and Missouri.

Washington is a self-motivated individual who is driven to fulfill his potential to become a best player he can be. He is a coachable player whose knowledge of the game has been based off of learning from his mistakes made during practices and games, along with utilizing the skills learned through camps and combines.

His athletic prowess carries over to the hardwood. He has drawn interest from Georgia, Georgia Southern, along with South Carolina after putting together a sophomore season that saw him score 8.8 points per game while pulling down a team-high 5.4 rebounds.

Aside from sports, Washington and his teammates regularly visits other elementary schools where they give motivating talks to kids. He carries a 3.1 grade-point average and currently plans to major in market managing.

Washington’s focus is still locked on the gridiron where he hopes to continue growing his skill set along with his athletic frame and potentially become one of the top defensive back prospects in the state.
