Michail Carter is one of those special defensive players that opponents have to include on their game plan. Standing tall at 6-foot-3 and weighing 290 pounds, the defensive lineman is an impact player that is blessed with tremendous athletic ability that is comparable to a smaller player. He also possesses great footwork and strength that has made him widely considered as one of the top juniors in the state of Georgia.

His performance regularly has a residual effect on the game as Jackson head coach Dary Myricks noted, speaking of one performance back on Nov. 6 in their season finale at Rutland. On five straight plays for the Hurricanes, each one resulted in a tackle for loss by Carter.

Performances like this has drawn attention from schools all over the country for the junior, including offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Clemson, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech and Illinois.

His sophomore season proved to be even more rigorous as a knee injury forced Carter to miss time, but he was able to bounce back to become one of the most highly touted players in the Class of 2016.

Carter also excels in the shot put where, last spring, the multi-sport athlete finished third in the event at the state meet with a throw of 49 feet, two inches.

While his athletic prowess speaks pages of words, Carter is a kid of few words. With a mother who works in the post office and a grandmother that was a former teacher, he exudes a humble personality and an extreme dedication to his schoolwork where he maintains good grades while taking AP and Honors classes.
