Player Bio

Do you remember your first varsity start and how was it?
“I was in ninth grade and one of our varsity starters got hurt. I ended up playing at free safety. It was pretty cool even though we lost the game. It was a good experience for me because it was playing on another level. I had never played with older guys.”

Have you played wide receiver your entire life and what made you want to play wide receiver?
“I have played wide receiver ever since little league. My brother and I used to throw the football, and my dad used to tell me I had good hands. I just got used to it. When I started playing with other people, it just was always a thing I liked doing.”

What is your best asset as a wide receiver and who do you model your style after?
“I would have to say my idol is Odell Beckham, Jr. when he played for LSU because I am an LSU fan. I watched a lot of how he played in college. He is still my idol to this day. I look up to him a lot. I think my best asset is just me being me. I can read a defense. I can tell how far they are playing off of me and what route to run. I know what to do in certain situations, so it is just all natural to me.”

More comfortable outside or inside the slot?
“I like a mixture of both. During the season, I play a lot in both situations. My coaches put me everywhere.”

Who is the most influential person in your life?
I would have to say my mom because of how hard she works every day to teach me things about life and how it works. She has just always been there and taken care of me. She is a hard worker. I have never met anyone that works harder than she does. She raised two kids on her own.

Do you do any work in the community?
“Sometimes I work in the concessions stands for the little league. I also do community work like feed the homeless at times. I like to do anything I can help with. It’s always good to give back to the community, especially people that helped you that you can give back to them.”

What colleges have shown interest in you/offered you?
“I don’t have any offers yet, but Purdue, Mercer, Troy and Middle Tennessee have shown interest.”

What has been your best football memory?
“When we played against Morgan County last year, we were down by two with a minute left in the game. I ended up catching a pass for a first down. Then, my teammate caught a pass for another first down. We kicked a 49-yard field goal with three seconds left, and we won the game.”
“Last year we made it to the playoffs against West Hall in the first round of the playoffs. We were down with less than a minute left. My quarterback threw me a pass to get the first down, and then the defense jumped offside to get 10 more yards. The next play our quarterback threw it in between three people to me for a touchdown, and we ended up winning the game.”

Did you attend any camps this offseason?
“I attended the Georgia camp.”

Outside of playing sports, what would you want to do for a living?
“I would want to be a physical therapist or be a coach. I like dealing with kids.”

What is a fact about you many people that don’t know you, wouldn’t be able to guess?
“I like playing old video games like the first Xbox or Gamecube. I love stuff like that.”
