Player Bio

Stockton McGuire features the size and skill set that many coaches dream of having in a quarterback. Standing at 6-4 and weighing a slender 170 pounds, McGuire harnesses a rocket arm to join his speed and athleticism that has made him an offensive threat for the War Eagles. Coming off of a 2013 season that saw him honored as the Region 5-A Offensive Player of the Year, the junior stepped up his game passing for over 1,200 yards with 500-plus yards on the ground and 24 total touchdowns while guiding Landmark Christian to the state playoffs. In his three years as a starter, McGuire has compiled a 23-7 overall record for the War Eagles. Yet, his athletic prowess is not limited to the gridiron. McGuire is a shooting guard for the varsity basketball team and runs the 400 and 800-meter for the track-and-field squad. Despite all of his physical gifts, the junior is praised as being a great leader with a tremendous work ethic, a trait that McGuire credits to his mother, who was a shooting guard for Furman basketball team. “Growing up, she had me do a lot of stuff that I didn’t want to do as far as sports goes, but it taught me how to work hard.” That drive is, without a doubt, embedded in the quarterback’s DNA and schools have taken notice. ACC and SEC squads such as Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, UNC, Alabama and Clemson have all been in contact with McGuire, but the junior has not tipped his hand of possible favorites to get his talents. The three-sport athlete also takes pride in participating in volunteer work as he has assisted with Habitat for Humanity and has served on two mission trips to Kenya where his group shared their Christian beliefs with local villagers. McGuire is a member of the National Honors Science Society as well as Beta Club and aspires to work in the medical field.
