Player Bio

Tarik Adams is a 6-foot-3, 287 pound offensive lineman at Lowndes High School that anchors the line of head coach Randy McPherson’s Wing-T offense with his size, skill set and aggressive play. Tarik possesses tremendous strength, especially in the lower half, along with great hands and flexibility that allow him to gain leverage against opponents in the trenches.

His ability can be proven by his numbers where he registered 34 pancakes blocks along with 15 cut-offs in helping the Vikings average 28 points per game while totaling 200 yards on the ground during 2014. Adams’ play and ability has seen Missouri join the group of Purdue, Kennesaw State and NC State and others that are seeking out the junior’s talents.

The lineman’s ability has presented the opportunity to play college ball, but he admits to feeling a motive to getting to the level of play of former Vikings Trey Jackson and Dyshon Sims, who is now playing at Georgia Tech and UGA respectively.

Adams cited the drive to improve because of the guidance and support that the pair brought to the lineman during his sophomore season, which had a tremendous influence on his emotional growth as a young player. Now, the junior is a vocal leader for Lowndes as a prodigy of Jackson and Sims and is willing to put in the effort for his teammates that the former Vikings had spent on him.

The junior standout does not limit his motivation to just the football field as he is an extremely active volunteer worker, regularly spending time with underprivileged children at a local Ronald McDonald house and helps the less-fortunate with food and clothing donations at Christmas. He is also a frequent visitor at nursing homes where Adams spends time with residents and participating in activities, including bingo.

Grades are an important priority as the junior works to maintain a 3.5 GPA while partaking in National Beta Club along with the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). He hopes to stay around the gridiron following his playing, listing options such as training or physical therapy that currently intrigue the young lineman.
