Player Bio

Do you remember your first varsity start and how was it?
“It was AWESOME… I had played varsity before, and actually got to play next to my brother
last year, but my first start ever was in the DOME playing Brookwood. It was great!”

Have you played OL your entire life and what made you want to play OL?
“Yes, I have played OL my entire life and love it. My dad played OL for Marshall and always helped my brother and I with footwork and technique. I love the playing OL and being a part of the strategy and planning that goes into moving the ball.”

What is your best asset as an OL? Is technique or strength more important in your opinion? What is your primary OL position and how comfortable are you with other positions? What do you want to play in college?
“My primary position is Center, but I can and have played all OL including Guard and Tackle. My coaches have always told me they like the way I understand the game and can count on me to play them all. My greatest asset as an OL is that I combine technique and strength, with an understanding of our scheme for leverage. With the competition we have in our area you have to have strength, but playing at this level you also have to have technique to make your strength work for you. I think you have to have both to be as good as you want to be.
I want to play Center in college, but coaches tell me I can also play Guard. I am definitely an inside guy and I love getting to make the line calls at Center.”

Who is the most influential person in your life?
“My dad, my brother, and my coaches here at Mill Creek.”

How many brothers and sisters, what ages and do they play sports?
“My brother Josh is 19 and plays football For MTSU My sister Reilly is 15 and played lacrosse but now she cheers for Mill Creek.”

Parents name and did they play sports in college?
“My moms’ name is Paula and she plays tennis now, but not in college. My dads’ name is John and yes he played football at Marshall University which is the school that gave me my first offer.”

Do you do any work in the community?
“I like to work with kids coming up in our youth league and volunteer to work with them in the summer. I help them with agility and position drills. I like to help them the way players helped me learn. Coach Jarvis helps us get involved with community projects. Last year we collected over 500 pairs of shoes for people in need through a “Shoes Haiti” project and in the past he has run the “HELPING HAWKS” program for senior citizens who need chores and errands run. At school I through the I-lead program and help to mentor for freshmen through their first year. I am also a member of FCA and participate with the “Somebody Lead Ministry” and like to help my mom with our summer youth groups at Hamilton Mill Methodist Church.”

What colleges have shown interest in you/offered you?
“Right now I have offers from: Kansas State, Marshall, UNC Charlotte, and Georgia State. I have true interest from: Clemson, Indiana, Illinois, Notre Dame, Houston, Temple, Louisville, Navy, Tennessee, Furman, USF, TCU, UGA, Cincinnati, Georgia Southern, App State, Virginia Tech, Toledo, Buffalo, Purdue, Coastal Carolina, UCF, ODU, Middle Tennessee, UAB, LA TECH, Oklahoma State, and others who contact me regularly, but these are the schools I talk with most and say they want to offer.”

What do you want to study in school?
“I want a degree in communications, but I really want to coach and hope to go through a grad assistant program where I end up playing in college.”
