Player Bio

Do you remember your first varsity start and how was it?
“My first varsity start was completely nerve racking. I started as a sophomore, and I haven’t felt
anything comparable to how nervous I was before that first play.”

Have you played OL your entire life and what made you want to play OL?
“I’ve played offensive line ever since I started playing football and I always wanted to play because I liked being able to have different mentalities on each play. Pass blocking gives a more patient and protective mentality while run blocking is pure aggression.”

What is your best asset as an OL? Is technique or strength more important in your opinion? What is your primary OL position and how comfortable are you with other positions? What do you want to play in college?
“My best asset as an offensive lineman is my intelligence and athletic ability. I think technique is the most important thing. My primary position has been tackle although I know my future will more than likely be on the interior.”

Who is the most influential person in your life?
“The most influential person in my life is my brother or my O-line coach.”

How many brothers and sisters, what ages and do they play sports?
“I have a twin brother [John] that is a long snapper.”

Do you do any work in the community? (i.e. help coach kids, volunteer, active in church)
“I help tutor kids at my old middle school and do community service through national honor society, beta club, and student ambassadors.”

What colleges have shown interest in you/offered you?
“Duke has shown a lot of interest along with Mississippi State, Colorado State and Vanderbilt.”

What do you want to study in school?
“I am not sure what I want to study yet, but I think something medical would be fun, or I would
also like to pursue fine arts.”

What has been your best football memory?
“My best football memory has been rivalry games with Archer. Each game I’m a part of is better
than the last.”

Gain any accolades? Did you attend any camps this offseason? Know any of your stats/blocking grades?
“I went to camps at Duke and Vanderbilt and I also went to the MVP camp and elite junior camp showcase. My blocking grades have consistently been above 90% every week.”

What is a fact about you many people that don’t know you, wouldn’t be able to guess?
“I am first chair bassist in my chamber orchestra class.”
